Art of Silence in Gurnsey for the first time this year.

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

The Art of Living Part II Course provides optimal conditions for going deep within, quieting our mental chatter, and experiencing deep rest and inner peace. The practice of silence – of consciously withdrawing our energy and attention from outer distractions – has been used in different traditions throughout time as a pathway to physical, mental, and spiritual renewal. By participating in various course processes specifically designed to take us beyond our usually active minds, we experience an extraordinary sense of peace and renewed energy that we carry home with us.

The course features:
  • Rejuvenating yoga
  • Two to three days of guided silence practice
  • Unique guided meditations designed by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
  • Advanced breathing techniques which can also be practiced at home after the course
  • Advanced insight on the laws governing our mind and emotions
The course is typically held as a residential retreat in a place of natural beauty and tranquility. It’s no wonder that many course participants refer to it as the ideal vacation for body, mind, and spirit.

Dates: Friday 24th to 27th August 2012
Place: Island of Gurnsey

World Forum for Ethics in Business

About the World Forum for Ethics in Business
The World Forum for Ethics in Business is a registered public interest foundation based in Belgium. The mandate of the Forum includes all manners of pursuing and establishing the indispensable ethical foundations of business in a globalized world.
The International Leadership Symposium on Ethics in Business, organized by the World Forum for Ethics in Business, in which the World Bank Institute and the International Association for Human Values are partnering organisations, is an annual event which brings together prominent leaders from business, politics, academia, civil society and faith‐based organizations to dialogue on the pressing need to strengthen human values and ethics in business. The recipients of the WFEB Ethics in Business Award, which honours individuals and companies that have demonstrated the importance of ethics in life and in the business arena, will also be announced at the Conference.
The Symposium was first launched on the inspiration of H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 2003 in Bangalore, India, and the venue moved to the European Parliament in Brussels in 2006. Over the past years, political leaders, Nobel Laureates and top executives from leading global companies as Microsoft Corporation, Coca Cola, Infosys, ING Bank, GMR Group, Daimler AG and Tata Services have participated in the annual symposium.

The theme of this year’s Conference, "Capitalism – but not reloaded?! - A systemic crisis and its consequences” stems from the need to reconsider leadership styles and strategies in the face of the ongoing social and economic challenges worldwide. In particular, the Conference will examine new leadership styles that are sustainable and ensure profitability for businesses, and explore whether business and ethics are complementary or contradictory. It will provide a platform for leading minds to share their experiences on the value of an ethics based approach to deal with today’s challenges. In these most challenging times, is the focus on human values and ethics an indispensable key to overcoming the current crises and avoiding future crises? What is the leadership style that can pave the way for a sustainable future?
